Event Navigation
Volkenfunk is a Teutonic maestro who was thought to be dead after being buried in the great Dortmund synth avalanche of ’83, recently discovered in a desiccated state beneath a couple of Korgs and brought back to life by immersion in Goldschlager.
Gemma Moss is a black-minded, rich-voiced goth torch singer. Like Emilie Autumn, but darker; like Tom Waits, but more tender; like Kurt Weill, but nakeder.
Nonstop Tango are a band that rose from the rich musical soup of Oxford’s improv community, telling strange tales, weaving dense rhythmic spells and beating jazz into a bloody pulp round the back.
The Shapes bring a bit of melodic normalcy to proceedings, with some classic tunes somewhere between Squeeze, Elvis Costello and a Midwest barndance. Let your hair down. Sing along. Have a dance. Try to forget what you have done.
