Locally based Kora player (a type of West African harp), Jali Fili Cissokho hails from Southern Senegal and is backed by his five-piece band playing funky ‘mbalax’ Afro grooves for pure dancefloor happiness. He is a Mandinkan griot, these professional hereditary musicians once entertained kings and emperors of Mali in a 4,000 year history. Guest DJ Volta 45 is a London-based Ghanaian and brings his extensive African record collection fresh from his massive Afro-Palace parties in Hackney.
