Drummer, percussionist, composer and band leader, the compositions of Dave Betts span the musical worlds of dancefloor jazz, funk and Latin music. Dave’s style of playing simultaneously incorporates drum kit with timbales, bongos and clave for multiple layers of intricate funky rhythms.

Dave’s band was formed in 2000 and within two years they played a residency at legendary jazz club Ronnie Scotts. A debut live cd was released from these sessions which received great reviews from the UK jazz press. He has playeed with a wide range of acclaimed musicians such as Peter Gabriel and jazz pianist Jason Robello. For this Bossaphonik gig the band will play their most dancefloor-oriented material in a sextet line up of drums, bass, keys, guitar, sax and trombone.
