Nick van Bloss (Piano) – Diabelli Variations @ Jacqueline du Pré Music Building, Oxford
Following Nick Van Bloss’ breathtaking performance of the Bach Goldberg Variations last January, the young British pianist returns to the JdP to perform the remarkable 33 Variations on a Waltz by Anton Diabelli Op. 120. In turn jocular, abrasive and serene, the Variations present Beethoven’s considered response to Bach’s late masterpiece.
