One of Oxford’s finest songwriters returns to The Cellar, bringing his finely-crafted tales of dead dogs, financial struggle and fear of death. Salvation Bill‘s latest single ‘Dead Dog’ has been supported by Tom Robinson on BBC 6Music (who said that “…his lyrics are some of the best I’ve heard for quite some time”) and BBC Introducing in Oxford (who said lots of things including “This next song is by Salvation Bill”). His looped-up sax-toting live show is a sight to behold.
Comprised of members of Alphabet Backwards, Minor Coles and Cat Matador, Limbo Kids are making some pretty shimmery waves around the city. Influences include disco, pop and the NFL. They’ve played shows with Trophy Wife, shared compilations with Chad Valley and Pet Moon, and brought the party everywhere they go.
After The Thought is a one man band, but it sure doesn’t sound like it. Probably because he’s got a pedal board big enough to make the Oxford Mail call him a ‘master of technology’, and with it he’s shared a stage with Portico Quartet, Ulrich Schnauss and Chew Lips.
Tickets include free entry to Needle In A Haystack (from 11.00 pm-3.00 am), whose DJs play an eclectic mix of Motown, indie, rock, 60s/70s/80s/90s and ska with some guilty pleasures thrown in to boot.
