UPSTAIRS, you see?

‘Upstairs’ gigs celebrate first birthday in May

The ‘BBC Introducing presents Upstairs’ series of gigs at the O2 Academy 2 in Oxford celebrate their first birthday in May. The gigs are a monthly showcase of Oxford’s musical talent, with the odd out-of-towner thrown in for good measure, created by O2 Academy Oxford people in partnership with the BBC’s weekly ‘Introducing’ radio show.

Details of acts playing the next few months’ worth of gigs are as follows:

Saturday 19 May – 1st birthday party!
Admiral Fallow
Adam Barnes
The Old Grinding Young
The Yarns
Mariana Magnavita

Saturday 16 June
Richard Walters
Family Machine
Listing Ships
The Gullivers

Saturday 11 August
Dance a la Plage
Shattered Dreams
Athletes In Paris
Colour Change For Camouflage
Ego Trip

(There will be a July show, by the way, if you’re wondering… the details for that one are yet to be confirmed).

Tickets for all of the gigs are just £5 each in advance, and available from WeGotTickets. They can be accessed through the power of the internet using these handy links: 19 May, 16 June, 11 August. Ticket holders also get free entry to the Propaganda/JackFM and Trashy/Room 101 clubs that take place late into the night after live music has finished – if you’re so inclined and desire to boogie the night away.
