Brilliant young chamber orchestra, Project Instrumental, venture from home for their first performance in Oxford. Bringing a thrillingly fresh programme to the Old Fire Station, they strip back the peripherals with their straightforward, contemporary approach to classical music.

Hot on the heels of their world premieres, this is a precious chance to catch the second performances of works from sonorous new voice Jesse Bescoby, award-winning Timothy Cape and internationally renowned Stephen Montague. Sound Emergents opens with Adams’ electrifying Shaker Loops, and Shostakovich’s autobiographical lament, the Chamber Symphony Op. 110a, provides a powerful and moving finale. Sensitive visuals complete the experiential whole.
