YardFest 2014 (Friday 11 July @ The Courtyard, Bicester): The Courtyard in Bicester puts on a lot of very positive events, and this year’s YardFest is co-organised by a committee of teenagers to give them experience of volunteering. Raising money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, the five-hours-plus event will include music from Blitz Kids, Attention Thieves and Hype Theory.
Irregular Folk’s Summer Session (Saturday 12 July @ The Perch, Oxford): Keep everything crossed for a sunny day as Irregular Folk’s all-day event brings a formidable line-up to this beautiful location. As well as some tip-top local talent like Salvation Bill, Jess Hall and Duotone, there’s a lot more to pique your interest such as The Irrepressibles, You Are Wolf, The May Birds… and more. And more.
Truck Festival (Friday 18 July and Saturday 19 July @ Hill Farm, Steventon): More festivally fun at this key date in Oxford’s musical calendar – Truck Festival is always a good thing, and this year looks no different with a line-up that includes White Lies, The Cribs and Blood Red Shoes, as well as, er, truckloads of local music from the likes of Pixel Fix, Family Machine, The Goggenheim and millions more. Truck on, Truckers!
Wittstock Music Festival (Saturday 19 July and Sunday 20 July @ The Plough, Long Wittenham): Not Truckin’? Maybe you could be Wittstockin’ instead. This weekend-long celebration of Oxfordshire music in the countrified surrounds of Long Wittenham features Bethany Weimers, Peerless Pirates, Fracture, The Mighty Redox and many more besides.
