Oxfordshire Music Charity Football World Cup in July

The Oxfordshire Music Charity Football World Cup returns on 5 July this year. The competition, organised jointly by PinDrop and Audioscope, aims to raise money for Shelter and The Gatehouse homeless charities.

The competition will take place from 12.00 pm to 4.00 pm on Saturday 5 July at the Oxford City FC 3G pitches, Court Place Farm. Bands are invited to enter teams by emailing james@pindroppublicity.com with a list of names.

Entry is £5 per person, and the format is six-a-side. Teams must include a minimum of five past or present musicians/promoters/journalists, and four of those five must be on the pitch at any one time. Teams can be composites of various bands/promoters, and entry will be at the discretion of the organisers. There are strictly 12 slots available, on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

The last tournament was won by a team led by Sam King, then of BBC Introducing in Oxford.

The Oxford City Clubhouse will be open at 5.00 pm on the day, for post-tournament drinks and live (real) World Cup coverage.
