Finally, straight from the organisers’ collective mouth: “Created to be one of Britain’s greenest events, Wood is powered completely on renewable energy, harnessing the power of sun, wind, used chip-fat and even bicycles. Twice a winner in the ‘A Greener Festival’ category at the UK Festival Awards, WOOD’s famous composting loos-with-a-view have even been nominated for Best Toilets – no portaloos here! The stage is made of wood, hand-crafted green oak in fact, with a cheery thatch of flowers growing on its roof. Wood is where those tired of bigger festivals (or wanting something different), young families with kids in tow, local foodies, folk fanatics and bird-watchers alike can have fun and relax whilst enjoying great music, delicious food and drink, wonderful workshops, and the joy of camping out in a wooded clearing in the Chiltern hills whilst red kites soar overhead.”
