Following on from the unfortunate news about Oxford Folk Festival being cancelled this year, a ray of folky sunshine has emerged from the dark cloud of economically-challenged festival plans.

Folk Weekend Oxford is a series of concerts and events that will take place from 15-17 April – the weekend that the Folk Festival had been scheduled to take place. The plans for the Folk Weekend were pulled together quickly by a bunch of volunteers and musicians who wanted to make sure that something great took place in lieu of the Folk Festival, after they had heard the bad news about the Festival’s cancellation.
