Festival news: more acts confirmed for Truck; Roots Manuva in South Park

Get your expensive floral-print wellies out, for festival time is on its way. Although, hopefully, you’ll need more in the way of cheap cider and sunglasses than wellies, as nobody likes a soggy festival. Since we reported a little while ago about the initial set of acts confirmed for this year’s Truck on 22-24 July – see here to remind yourself of them – the Truckganisers have released details of more additions to the bill.

So, in addition to the previous list, as a Truck-goer you can avail yourself of performances from the following:

  • Admiral Fallow
  • Alessi’s Ark
  • Cashier No9
  • Edwyn Collins
  • Graham Coxon
  • Dry The River
  • Gaggle
  • The Go! Team
  • Lanterns on the Lake
  • Mechanical Bride
  • Pete Molinari
  • Trevor Moss & Hannah-Lou
  • Richard Norris (Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve)
  • Justin Robertson
  • The Rockingbirds
  • Sea of Bees
  • Philip Selway
  • Justin Townes Earle
  • Truck Festival All-Stars
  • Tunng
  • Two Fingers of Firewater
  • James Walbourne
  • Dean Wareham (plays Galaxie 500)
  • Roddy Woomble

The event will also feature a new stage, hosted each day by folks from different record labels – Transgressive, Heavenly and Bella Union. Cor! Tickets and whatnot from the Truck website.

More exciting news is the announcement that this year’s Fiesta In The Park – the fund-raising show for Cowley Road Carnival – will take place in South Park on 2 July. And you know what? They’ve only gone and snagged Roots Manuva as the headliner for the event! Mr Manuva will be supported by, amongst others, Brassroots and Oxford’s very own DJ Count Skylarkin’. Nifty! Tickets cost only £10 in advance, or £15 on the door, for a whole bunch of entertainments lasting from 4.30 pm to 10.30 pm. Now that represents good value for money.
