SUMMARY:Oxjam Oxford Takeover 2013 with Toliesel / Sweet William and many more @ several venues\, Oxford
DESCRIPTION:Now in its third year after having raised over £10K for Oxfam\, Oxjam Oxford Takeover returns to bring together more local talent to help raise even more money. The festival encompasses all of the city’s best established and eclectic venues\, and one wristband provides access to all six venues.\nThe line-up is currently as follows\, with more acts to be announced:\nToliesel: performing their own twist of indie pop Americana.\nSweet William\nDeer Chicago: bringing their post-rock fusion to the Takeover.\nBlack Hats: self-described as Oxford's very finest yob savants\, playing the Takeover this year after having to pull out last minute in 2012 due to motorcycle accidents and injuries.\nAdam Barnes: a haunting folk singer-songwriter who recently smashed his target on Kickstarter to fund his incredible debut album The Land\, The Sea & Everything Lost Beneath.\nThe Scholars\nDance à la Plage: recently supported 1975 with their fusion of indie dance beach pop\, and following a summer of festival appearances they come to the Takeover performing tracks from their latest EP Flying High.\nListing Ships: nautically-inspired instrumental post-krautrock. Having recently lost a member to parenthood the now three-piece have received rave reviews.\nDuchess: having previously played Oxjam fundraisers in 2012 this is the first year they take part in the October event. Described by one fan: "Watching Duchess is like being transported to a sweaty Costa Rican night club full of hip-shaking dusky mamas"!\nEmpty White Circles: with 50% of the band hailing from Boston\, they’re the genuine Americana item and play the Takeover following a headline EP launch at the O2 Academy Oxford.\nVenues will include Turl Street Kitchen\, The Cellar\, The Purple Turtle\, Wesley Memorial Methodist Church\, and New Road Baptist Church.\nMore information at www.oxjamoxford.co.uk.
