DESCRIPTION:With influences from classical\, jazz and the Middle East\, Shirley Smart is fast becoming known as one of the UK’s most versatile and creative cellists. She made Jerusalem her home for 10 years\, engaging with the jazz and improvised music scene. Since returning to the UK\, she has worked with many leading jazz and world music groups\, including Antonio Forcione\, Kosmos Ensemble\, Shekoyo’kh Gilad Atzmon\, Neil Cowley\, Julian Ferraretto\, Alice Zawadski and Robert Mitchell.\nThis concert forms part of OCM’s education and outreach programme\, presented in collaboration with Artscape and Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust.\nEntry by recommended donation to Artscape\, who co-ordinate a programme of workshops and commission new artworks across the NHS Trust to enhance the hospital environments.\nMore information at www.ocmevents.org/ocm/events/shirleysmart
