DESCRIPTION:Fur take the finest elements of the UK hip hop sound\, with conscious lyrics and the role of the anti-hero which they invigorate with an 8 piece band comprised of drums\, bass\, 2 guitars\, 3 horns and MC/cello.\nOriginally formed when MC murmur and guitarist Greg Sanders (also both members of Wara\, who have played at Bossaphonik) met at the ethnomusicology course at SOAS university in 2009. Since then the rest of the FUR line up has altered until its present day formation became sealed when the band travelled to Senegal and Mali. Drawing on their experiences and inspiration from bands such as Orchestra Baobab and Bembeya Jazz\, the band started writing interlocking guitar parts and bringing West African mbalax\, Ethiopian jazz and dub into their hip hop template.\nTickets available from www.wegottickets.com/event/157577
