DESCRIPTION:To start the year afresh Oxfolk have a veritable feast of local talent. Wantage band Melobo has a fast-growing reputation for its distinctive and mellifluous blend of melodeon and oboe. The popular band has made a name for itself playing Wallingford BunkFest and White Horse Ceilidhs and Folk Festival. Drawing on musical influences from the baroque to rock\, their tunes are irresistibly danceable. The band was put together to explore what happens when classical and folk music are blended\, which creates the band's unique sound.  The unusual trio line-up of Graham Hubbard (melodeon and fiddle)\, Charlotte Pascoe (oboe and recorder) and Howard Hill (bass and tenor guitar) is augmented by guest drummer Adam Courthold (also of Ceilidhography).\nBarry Goodman introduces highly entertaining caller Phill Moxley\, who has come to prominence with ceilidh band Threepenny Bit. The unmistakable and striking local border morris side\, Armaleggan\, join us from just up the road at Cumnor.
