Layered cello drones\, electronic noise\, vocal spectacle.\nOliver Coates is that rare sort of musician who can play in any genre and you believe every note he plays. Possibly the busiest and most popular cellist in contemporary music\, he has worked as a composer\, producer and collaborator with the likes of Mira Calix\, Micachu\, Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood and Britten Sinfonia. From layered cello drones to electronic noise\, Coates’ playing never stands still; the cello is tuned and strung like no other - “think Sonic Youth and their guitars"\, says Coates.\nElaine Mitchener’s use of her voice is quite unlike anyone else\, a sound which draws you into her world as much as it intrigues and bemuses you.
