SUMMARY:Candy Says / Chrysta Bell @ Holywell Music Room\, Oxford
DESCRIPTION:Candy Says play their album launch show at Oxford's Holywell Music Room\, with support from Chrysta Bell.\nCandy Says's debut album Not Kings has been a year in the making\, recorded in the band's bungalow garage. During that time they've released a mobile app of demos and liner notes\, three sold out cassette singles\, two EPs of garage recordings\, a live album and two full-length concert films.\nThis will be the third in a series of unique sold out shows in unusual Oxford venues. The first\, at St Barnabas Church in May\, featured a live painting of an enormous canvas behind the stage and a surprise opera singer\, and the Oxford Times called it "triumphant". The Christmas show\, over two nights at the Albion Beatnik bookshop\, included a choir of singing mannequins wired up with old stereo speakers.\nChrysta Bell is an American chanteuse who co-wrote a critically acclaimed album with David Lynch\, and is visiting Oxford as part of a month-long European tour. Candy Says will be supporting Chrysta Bell on the UK leg of her tour (Glasgow\, Manchester\, London) and she has kindly agreed to join them for their album launch in Oxford.\nThe Holywell Music Room is Europe's oldest purpose-built music venue\, and the acoustics are perfect for the band's intricate arrangements and intimate vocals. It's the perfect place to see Candy Says perform their catchy lo-fi chic pop tunes and grab the album weeks before its official release on 5 May.\nMore information at candysays.it

SUMMARY:The Fauns / Flights Of Helios / Toliesel @ The Cellar\, Oxford
DESCRIPTION:Think the very best 90s shoegaze pop and add a wonderful heap of 21st century ingenuity and you’ve got The Fauns.. This too-hot-to-handle group is going places\, and it’s probably the last time you’ll see them in a venue of this size. Aptly supported by indie soundscapers Flights Of Helios and kicked off by the bright fresh Toliesel.\nMore information at www.cellaroxford.co.uk/event/fauns
