DESCRIPTION:One of the most original pianists on the British circuit\, Kate Williams has over the last few years released a series of excellent albums and toured with her own projects featuring Gareth Lochrane (flute)\, Tristan Maillot (drums) and Oli Hayhurst (bass). In the last year\, Kate has headlined at the Pizza Express in their Steinway Two Piano series\, has been gigging with Bobby Wellins\, one of the legends of British jazz\, and she has a concert schedule coming up in 2014: the Interplay Series features Kate and her trio with orchestra\, performing pieces by Bill Evans\, Debussy and Ravel.\nIn 2011\, her septet was nominated for a Parliamentary Jazz Award and released Made Up\, which reached the top ten in the MOJO Albums of the Year.\nMore information at spinjazz.net/event/191
