DESCRIPTION:Police Dog Hogan are a high-energy and eclectic seven-piece\, combining fiddle\, banjo\, mandolin\, drums and guitars with knockout four-part harmonies in an exuberant fusing of country\, pop\, folk\, and rocking urban bluegrass. The Sunday Times has described them as “wonderful”; the Telegraph named them one of its "favourite new bands”; Radio 2 called them “a band to watch” and DJ Johnnie Walker praises their gigs as “just a really good\, fun time”.\nSome artists are able to articulate a vision at the very beginning of their career\, while others hone their craft over time\, growing into their vision as they mature. "I am definitely in the latter category\," explains Drew Holcomb\, a Tennessee-born\, duck hunting\, bourbon drinking\, 1st edition book collecting\, golf playing Eagle Scout with a Masters degree in Divinity from Scotland's University of St Andrews (he wrote his dissertation on "Springsteen and American Redemptive Imagination") who has spent the better part of the past decade as a professional musician - recording\, writing\, and touring with his band Drew Holcomb & The Neighbours.\nMore information at www.empty-rooms.com/policedog14.html. DESCRIPTION:Dance to MoltenAmba - top musicians from the worlds of jazz\, blues\, pop and folk. All the dances are explained\, so that you can relax and enjoy a fantastic atmosphere.\nMoltenAmba plays English folk with world rhythms and jazz sensibilities. This band brings together some of the best English talents in folk\, world\, blues and jazz in one delectable dance band. They are Richard Jones – accordion (Climax Ceilidh Band\, Angles)\, Chris Walshaw – pipes and whistles (also Climax Ceilidh Band\, Angles)\, Bruce Knapp – guitar (too many bands to mention but including the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain)\, Dudley Phillip – double bass (has performed with June Tabor\, Andy Shepherd and Womack and Womack) and Martyn Barker – drums and percussion (has recorded and performed with Marianne Faithful\, Billy Bragg and Ray Davies).\nThis evening is a Euro-ceilidh\, so the dances will include many English ceilidh favourites as well some French and other European dances. Quite the best caller for the evening is Jo Freya\, caller (and saxophonist) with Blowzabella and Token Women.
