DESCRIPTION:One of the best contemporary big bands around begins a new 'Spin Sunday' series.\nBig Colors features some of the hottest players in UK jazz - on lead trumpet\, ex NYJO and probably THE lead trumpeter of the moment\, Tom Walsh\, as well as current NYJO lead trumpet\, the 18 year old rising star\, Louis Dowdeswell. Other pretty fierce players include Ray Wordsworth (Sinatra\, Sarah Vaughan\, BBC Radio Big Band)\, Adam Waldmann (MOBO award winning tenor saxophonist) and Ollie Weston (London Jazz Orchestra) plus the Spin's own rhythm section. The band play a superb set of contemporary standards that includes pieces by Steely Dan\, Metheny\, Wayne Shorter\, Sting and so much more.\nNo advance ticket sales - just turn up.
