DESCRIPTION:Following a summer of festival appearances and their hugely acclaimed 5X5 tour\, Simple Minds will be performing their Greatest Hits Live in 2013 on a huge 28 date tour. Simple Minds are one of the UK’s most successful rock groups to date. Having topped America’s Billboard chart\, the Glasgow band have achieved six number one albums in the UK\, as well hitting the top spot in countless other countries including Germany\, Italy\, France\, Spain\, Australia and New Zealand.\nSimple Minds are arguably one of the best live bands in the world and over a thirty year career have been responsible for some of the most innovative and enduring anthems in rock music. He has worked with the likes of Bobo Stenson and Paul Motian\, was one of the founding members of the groundbreaking sax quartet Itchy Fingers in the 80s and his playing career continues to evolve\, drawing critical acclaim in the process.\nFor this project\, Martin is joined by American drummer Jeff Williams who is described in All About Jazz as that rare creature\, the drummer who "understands and conceptualizes time as something beyond the standard 'spang-a-lang' status quo".
