DESCRIPTION:A tenor saxophonist who played in the company of George Coleman and Nat Adderley\, two of the greatest improvisers in jazz\, needs to be taken pretty seriously. Art is such a player and his fluent\, bewitching solos seem as compelling now as at any time over his long and distinguished career. Art began playing as a student at Cambridge when he got heavily involved in the British scene - he played with many of the great musicians of that style and period such as Graham Bond\, Ginger Baker and Alexis Korner.
