SUMMARY:Richard Walters / Family Machine / Phil McMinn @ Truck Store\, Oxford
DESCRIPTION:Those fuzzy-faced geniuses at Beard Museum are taking over the Truck Store. They are bringing Oxford's tender voiced acoustic troubador Richard Walters\, on the back of his new release Regret Less - his crowd-funded second album - along with the acoustic folk-pop brilliance of the Family Machine and former Winchell Riots leader Phill McMinn. Should be a fantastic day of live music!\nTiming TBC. More information at truckmusicstore.co.uk

SUMMARY:Flights Of Helios @ A Salters Steamers boat\, The Thames
DESCRIPTION:Flights of Helios will be performing their esoteric brand of spaced out\, post trip-pop cosmic rock on one of Salter's fine river-faring crafts. The vessel will drift along the Thames as the band play with the backdrop of the sun setting over a crisp\, clear autumnal evening on the river.\nNormally this experience would cost £7 without the music but\, as a fundraiser for ARTISJUSTAWORD\, the tickets will be a mere £4. Mulled wine and other beverages will be available\, and buckets shook to encourage your charitability.

SUMMARY:Elysian Quartet with Maya Youssef @ St John the Evangelist Church\, Oxford
DESCRIPTION:The Elysian Quartet are drawn towards projects which investigate the possibilities of what a string quartet can do\, what sounds and noises it can make and the various ways performances can be presented. They have performed all over the world in a multitude of diverse scenarios: prestigous concert halls\, theatres\, sweaty clubs\, a volcano\, helicopters\, wild meadows\, multimedia art installations\, beaches\, fire sculptures\, forests and once in a barn being dive bombed by bats.\nThis autumn they collaborate with Syrian Kanun player Maya Youssef\, a true master of this beautiful ancient stringed zither.\nThis concert will be introduced by Max Reinhardt from BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction.

SUMMARY:Red Valve / One Man Team Dance / Lewis Newcombe @ The Wheatsheaf\, Oxford
DESCRIPTION:Gappy Tooth Industries present...\nRed Valve: Not a band who go much for useful info online\, we’ll admit\, so the only reason to click on the link below is to hear a big slab of greasy rock garnished with querulous new wave vocals. And who doesn’t? We like any band who record the guitar on their album through a little karaoke machine “with all the dials turned up”\, but we like them even more when they have a good sense of a cheeky\, oddly-shaped rock tune and a fuzzy keyboard noise. www.myspace.com/redvalve\nOne Man Team Dance: Oxford goth-metal-noise legend Umair Chaudry has graced the GTI stage before\, and he also pops up as producer for Wycombe duo One Man Team Dance. OK\, that’s probably all the recommendation you need that their Casio and drum assault is heavy\, humorous and deftly performed\, but to elucidate further they describe their music as “somewhere between Mates of State\, Hella and Lightning Bolt (ish)”. It’s actually a little lighter than this implies though\, with a skipping funky sense of rhythm underpinning the doomy buzz of the synth. This is a great band for anyone who’s missing Oxford promoters Vacuous Pop and Poor Girl Noise. Plus we like any band that has a video of them feeding people cheese and playing music in a toilet on their website. www.onemanteamdance.blogspot.co.uk\nLewis Newcombe: We start the evening with something more subtle from Lewis Newcombe\, who started off busking\, and has developed into a purveyor of lovely\, Bert Janschesque balladry. If the thought of elegant melodic folk influences such as John Renbourn\, Simon and Garfunkel\, John Martyn\, Eva Cassidy\, Bob Dylan\, Neil Young\, and Roy Harper don’t get you in the mood for a relaxed opener\, then we frankly despair of you. soundcloud.com/lewisnewcombe-jones\nTickets available from www.wegottickets.com/event/182596
