A reminder that the fourth Winter Warmer festival takes place this weekend. Running over two days at The Jericho Tavern on Walton Street, and jointly organised by Gappy Tooth Industries, Swiss Concrete and The Coo Coo Club, it features a varied lineup containing some of the most interesting bands in the county. On Saturday you can catch Gallic charmers Les Clochards, female-fronted folk rock from The Mile High Young Team, monster rock riffs from Mephisto Grande and timeless indie pop from The Black Hats, among many others. Highlights of Sunday’s show might include angular folk duo Cogwheel Dogs, perky pop types The Wookies, indie rockers Vixens (who created a bit of a stir here on Oxfordbands.com earlier in the year) and large-screen melodic Gothery from Mary’s Garden.
It’s five pounds (per day) cover and doors open at 3.00pm. Get there before 5.00p.m. and the cover is reduced to a derisory three pounds. Should be an excellent way to see out the musical year.
